The opening of the Wenonah Military Academy in 1904 by Stephen Greene and his son William changed the character of the community. No longer did things close down in the winter as they did with the Wenonah House and Wenonah Inn. Visiting parents, lectures, dances and band concerts provided year-round activity and greatly boosted the local economy. This photo was taken in 1907, a little more than 3 years after the academy opened.
