Went on to Cornell University and was president of her class there. Stayed on to attend Cornell Law School and graduated. Married William Pierce Rogers who she met a Cornell Law School He became Attorney General and then Secretary of State.

She was the first woman to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, awareded to her by President Richard Nixon. There is a tape of a telephone conversation she had with Nixon at his library. They used to let you hear it over the internet -- perhaps if someone asks they will release a copy to us.
