Found this photo under the floor boards at 401 East Cherry Street. Class picture of whomever lived in my bedroom in the carriage house.

Wenonah's first public school was built in 1877. The structure on N Marion Ave, which many of you will recognize in the lower photo, served many functions after the current school on N Clinton Ave was constructed in 1894. The upper view shows the school building on Marion in its original state.
Scott and Wendy Conway donated this photo-postcard of the crossing at Warner's Lake (aka Wenonah Lake). The postmark is unclear, but Scott estimates the postcard is circa 1910, based on what is legible and the 1-cent Ben Franklin stamp.

The amounts reported above are for the gross receipts of the electric companies of the state of New Jersey and the total sum for the entire state. They appeared in the report with the title page below in 1903.
The existence of the company came to my attention when I saw this postcard offered on eBay. You can see front and back below.
The Wenonah Untied Methodist as it appeared in 1886. It is located at the corner of E. WIllow St. and S. Clinton Ave. This view is from E. Willow St.
The tea house was built for Robert Comey in 1911.

Donald G. Gehring shared this 1938 photo of the 130' wooden bridge across the north end of Warner's lake. Notice the small bridge across to the right. There were several of these around the lake where small springs flowed. You could walk around the lake w/o getting
mud on your shoes. Kids are Doug & Don Gehring.
A tower built in the lake offered a high platform for diving.
This postcard of Wenonah Lake was mailed in 1932.
This ticket booth, which is thought to be from the Wenonah Train Station, was donated to the Wenonah Historical Society by David Sporer, Jr. Thanks, Dave!!!
The ticket booth --- along with many other items from the WHS Museum --- will be on display at the Wenonah Historical Society annual meet-and-greet on Friday, September 14th at 110 S Clinton Ave from 6-9 PM.

Undated, unused color post card of the Ferry Boat Baltic, Camden, N.J.
Scott Barnes found details on the Baltic. The ferryboat Baltic was launched by the West Jersey Ferry Co. in 1881. Shortly thereafter, in 1883, the Pennsylvania Railroad took control of the company to block the Reading from doing the same. This is laid out in a 1921 book "Old Ferries of Camden, NJ" that has been scanned into text form and is in the list below this page.
Wenonah was built around the railroad station and an easy commute to Philadelphia.
On August 30, 2017, Vicki Lou McCall wrote, "With the new school year about to start, let me share with you this recent find from a few years ago...it is signed & filed by the School District's clerk, Edward L. Farr (is there anything this man didn't do?- I.e. developed linoleum as we know it from his father's oil cloth company, started and ran Cooper Hospital, donated land to The Wenonah Presbyterian Church, President of The Camden Bank & Trust Bank, started an orphanage for destitute children, etc....).
